Client had two pending charges, a Simple Possession charge in Smith County and a Shoplifting charge in Wilson County. Our office recommended that the client complete an Alcohol and Drug Assessment prior to their court date. By showing the District Attorney that the client had completed the A&D Assessment on their very first court date, we were able to obtain a dismissal on costs in both courts for both charges. This prevented the client from having to use their pretrial diversion and resulted in no charges being on their record. A great success in Smith and Wilson County.
