Juvenile Drug Possession

Violation: Possession of Schedule VI; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Result: All Charges Dismissed

Juvenile was charged with possession of a schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A juvenile was in a car occupied by three other juveniles and one adult.  Their car was searched by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department, which uncovered the presence of marijuana in a hidden compartment.  Without any proof of who knew the drugs were in the container, the deputy charged every occupant of the car on the grounds that “no one would claim the drug.”  Hardly a ground for serious criminal accusations.  A motion to dismiss was granted and all charges dismissed.
