The client was charged with Driving Under the Influence in Wilson County, Tennessee in 2025. The client was arrested following a traffic stop for speeding and light law violation. The client was working out of state and had flown into town for some time off work. The client was driving a rental car. The client admitted to drinking earlier in the evening. The client was instructed to do field sobriety testing and arrested. The client’s blood was drawn and reported above the legal limit of 0.08%.
Upon reviewing the dash camera video, it was difficult to identify if the vehicle was actually speeding. The rental car was also equipped with running lights that appeared as if the headlights and taillights were activated when they were not. In our negotiations with the District Attorney, we were able to obtain a reduction of the charge to Reckless Endangerment. The positive result is a product of our review of the officer’s report, the video, and the appropriate due diligence a case requires.
